AREA21 which is the Live project of dance music icon Martin Garrix and Detroit rapper and producer Maejor, is going to be releasing a 46-minute like performance film.
Titled ‘Live On Planet Earth’, the film features Garrix and Maejor decked in space suits and performing with a full band on an elevated scaffolding wrapped all around by dazzling pyrotechnics while expanding on the back story of the collective and exploring their journey to earth and adjacent alien themes.
The performance film will be premiering on Hulu in the United States, Star+ in Latin America and on Disney+ in all other territories on April 5, 2023.
Speaking about the exciting dream coming true, Garrix said via a Press release, “‘We’ve always been dreaming of having AREA21 on stage with a band. The music on the album has been made with a lot of live instruments like real bass, real drums, so it’s amazing to be able to put that into a full live performance now.’’
Adding on, the other half of the duo Maejor said, “This is the beginning of an evolution of the music and sounds of AREA21. It’s a great opportunity to show different sides of the project and introduce people to things they haven’t seen from us yet.”
In addition to the film, AREA21 will also be releasing the ‘Live On Planet Earth’ album at the same time across all streaming platforms. This will be the duo’s second album, following up on the debut album they dropped two years ago titled ‘Greatest Hits Vol. 1.’
