Beautiful people Floorplan remix

American father-daughter duo, Floorplan which comprises the legendary DJ Robert Hood and his daughter Lyric, has now come out with a fresh take on “Beautiful People” by Barbara Tucker.

This iconic remix comes out on Positiva Records and what better time than the 25th anniversary year of the record label for the track to come out.

The familiar vocal loops set a grand opening to the remix, along with the raw synth lines and an upbeat tempo. The energy is really infectious and offers a nostalgic feel as it ventures into the quiet phase dominated by the vocals. The remix once again rises in luminosity and keeps up the great vibe right till the end.

The original was co-written by Little Louie Vega and Kenny Dope Gonzalez and peaked at #1 on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart way back in 1994. It also adorned the 23rd spot on official UK charts and became one of the best dance classics from the 90s.

Robert Hood has been one of minimalistic techno’s pioneers and has released several iconic productions under the Floorplan moniker. Joined by his daughter Lyric in the year 2016, they make a perfect team.

The year has been phenomenal for Positiva records as they showcased a series of one-off parties and special releases including the remixes of music from the likes of Eats Everything, Yotto, Mele, Shadow Child and many more. With two of their tracks – Jonas Blue’s ‘Rise’, and Tiesto’s ‘Jackie Chan’ – featuring simultaneously in the Top #5 Official UK Charts during summer, the label has once again proved a spiritual home for high-quality productions on both a commercial and more club-ready level.

After 25 years of entertaining the dance music scene, the label has provided something classic to commemorate it. Which track do you like better? The original or the remix? Let us know below.
