After the huge hit ‘Back 2 U’, which drew over 50 million streams on Spotify, Boehm comes out with a cool new summer anthem – Cool Kidz.
The Romanian’s track has been released on Ultra Music and also features Swedish singer and songwriter IXY.
Starting off in a funky, energetic manner, it leads onto the sexy –sounding vocals of IXY. The slick chord rattles are a plus as it gives it a unique kick. No to forget the effect of the drums, this ones’ going to be very popular among the millennials! Down on tempo, the track offers a groovy vibe that sucks you into it.
Though only releasing music under the moniker of Boehm until relatively recently, Alex has been producing music since the age of 12 getting his start in hip-hop and eventually going on to produce several pop hits throughout Europe. Since the conception of “Boehm”, Alex has chosen to set aside all other projects and leave behind all of the accomplishments accumulated thus far. The gamble paid off. He had several back to back #1 on Hypem and scored a major collaboration with Steve Aoki and Walk The Moon last year for “Back 2 U”.
Asked about his style of music, he says, “There’s not much of a difference in my process with remixes and originals- I treat most songs like they are brand new Boehm songs. First I play a piano melody over an acapella and then start building on it from there. The most important thing to me is that I produce something that makes me happy”.
Producing music since a very young age, getting his start in hip-hop and eventually going on to produce several pop hits throughout Europe, Boehm prides himself on his ability to achieve stylistically varied sounds, which can range from warm pop and tropical vibes to electronic bangers.
Following his set at Belgian mega-festival, Tomorrowland last year, ‘Cool Kidz’ looks set to cement a place as one of this summer’s most popular melodic anthems, with Boehm continuing his meteoric rise through the industry. His track ‘Back 2 U’ also received remixes from the likes of Steve Aoki, The Chainsmokers, Sia, NERVO, and Charlie Puth.
