French Israeli house maestro Born Dirty returns to front the latest collaborative release from the ongoing partnership between Insomniac Records and Defected’s D4 D4NCE imprint, with his latest single “Key To Me,” a soulful groover showcasing the arresting vocals of Tayla.

Unlocking the secret to satisfaction, “Key to Me” opens with classic string arrangements that punctuate the track with a dark, alluring edge. A throbbing kick drum leads into the introduction of the vocal topline from Tayla, who embraces newfound empowerment after picking up the pieces from a toxic romance.

Soon after unveiling Tayla’s repeated vocal refrain, “Now that I’ve found it / I don’t want to lose it,” Born Dirty kicks things into overdrive with heavy hi-hats and a shuffling groove. It’s rooted in a buoyant energy familiar to modern dancefloors, while simultaneously woven with the refined sensibilities that have defined soulful house for decades on end.

Known to family and friends as Mika Abadie, the multi-instrumentalist and house aficionado has a longstanding heritage with Insomniac Records that has seen him grace the catalog almost every year since the label’s launch. In 2018, he served up his label debut with the infectious B-boy grooves found on his single “Crazy.” His next release took the form of his double-sided offering ‘Alpha Omega / In The Shadows,’ followed up by the feel-good anthem “Happy.” Most recently, he delivered one of his biggest hits to date with the electrifying disco number “24,” which has amassed more than 3.4M streams and counting.

This history makes Born Dirty the natural choice to take the reins on the latest release from the Insomniac Records and D4 D4NCE joint venture, which has previously tapped J. Worra and Deeper Purpose to help bridge the gap between the two powerhouse imprints on “Lighting To Strike” and “Shake It,” respectfully. The string of releases is also materializing itself into a full-fledged showcase on the Friday of Miami Music Week, with both camps hosting their joint Miami Pool Party, including performances from CID, SIDEPIECE, Noizu, KREAM, Westend, Camden Cox, Deeper Purpose, Tom & Collins, and, of course, Born Dirty himself.

Born Dirty’s new single “Key To Me” ft. Tayla is available on all platforms via Insomniac Records / D4 D4NCE.
