Brooke Williams – Nightmare

Nightmare

With her soft yet meaningful vocals at the forefront of her style, the LA-based Brooke Williams draws on country music influences to carve out her own 2018 sound. Having featured on tracks that have amassed millions of streams, she now presents her original single – Nightmare.

Effortlessly catchy with just enough edge, the pop vocal hooks offset its winding melody, which provides a little bit in all the right places.

She says of “Nightmare:” “I used to hang out with this guy who always described himself as a ‘nightmare.’ Every time I hung out with him, we’d have the craziest, most unexpected adventures.

Over time I realized these were all the reasons he called himself a nightmare. I thought it was an interesting word to describe yourself and it stuck with me, which is what inspired this song. I kept thinking to myself “Damn he really IS a nightmare, but it’s one I want to be in.”

About Brooke Williams:

Growing up in the mountains of San Diego, CA. Brooke was inspired by an eclectic group of pop culture artists ranging from Aretha Franklin, Aqua, Britney Spears, Eminem, OutKast, Shania Twain & even Blink 182.

At the age of 14, her family moved to a new town where she felt like an outsider and someone who never felt as if she fit the status quo but the music was always an escape where she felt like she could truly express herself. This led her to record her first demos and winning local songwriting contests.

While attending college in LA, Brooke felt robotic and needed to shed apart of herself in order to grow. This led her to Nashville, TN where she began writing across both country & pop music genres. Throughout her time there, she started to find her songwriting voice the way that writers such as Adele, Julia Michaels, Sia & Bebe Rexha have. In the summer of 2016, Brooke bought a 1-way ticket back to LA where she spent five months couch surfing and doing whatever she could to get by. She fell in love with the fast pace lifestyle of LA and its music culture and ended up leaving all her belongings in Nashville to begin a fresh start.

Since her return to LA, Brooke has been writing for herself and other major label artists. On features alone, she’s amassed millions of streams w/ the intent of trouncing those achievements with her upcoming original material. Brooke ultimately wants to connect with the everyday girl and be an example of a truly organic and honest artist.
