Emerging artist Casper Sun is proud to present his highly-anticipated full-length LP, ‘Sunshine Radio’.
Following the releases of featured singles “Wavy Luv,” “Chill W U” ft. Sunroof95, and “Mercury Glider” in recent months, ‘Sunshine Radio’ drops with an additional eight new tracks, certain to have a little something for any musical palate. ‘Sunshine Radio’ is available worldwide on Tuesday, August 31.
Have you ever wanted to take a slice of summer and play it back endlessly even when it’s not summer? Casper Sun begs that question in his emphatic debut.
“‘Sunshine Radio’ is really about taking a lot of the happiness and sadness I experienced over summer and condensing it to a form that I could understand and process on my own whenever,” says Casper Sun on his ‘Sunshine Radio’. “The album is filled with the shimmer and shine from a poolside reflection, the sweetness of an iced pink lemonade in the middle of August, and yet tinged by the midnight blues and hues. Summer has always been such a pivotal time in our lives growing up because of how much freedom we had. However, with great freedom comes great mistakes, and life lessons hit different when they come with a side of ice cream and 100+ degree weather. And so I retreated back into the shade.”
A coalescence of diverse styles, sounds, and thought-provoking themes, ‘Sunshine Radio’ is a culmination of Casper Sun’s diverse interests, uplifting electronica, and refreshingly inventive compositions combined into an unmistakably heartfelt package.
It’s an LP of galactic proportions from a cerebral talent trying to communicate exactly how it feels to come into his own in this world and the next. Though there are variations in pace and theme, each piece of the album flows effortlessly into the next, signifying an artist in full mastery of their capabilities.
And while the contours of each composition may resemble one another at times, the feelings evoked can range from soaring jubilance to wide-eyed awe.
“‘Sunshine Radio’ was really inspired by the nights I spent up in middle school listening to the program ‘Love Line’ on KROQ, a radio station in LA that played rock music during the day,” continues Sun on his debut. “At night, the station opened up its phone lines for people to call in about their personal problems, and that’s when I really started to pay attention. Listening to ‘Love Line’ as a kid really opened my eyes to what people go through. Whether it’s personal, relationship or familial issues, everyone has a struggle in one shape or form, and it’s really about how we can get through these problems together that define not only who we are as people and but also as a community. I know my problems are not unique at the end of the day so I use Casper as a way of connecting with others and creating a space for all of us to sing, cry and dance together. I make music for sad people to dance to and after we get out of the pandemic, I’d love nothing more than to share a dance with everyone.”
