After releasing enchanting lead singles including “Drown” ft. Mokita, “When This Is Over” with Nurko ft. Donovan Woods, and “Feel Like” ft. Cappa, Dabin unveils his third studio album, ‘Between Broken’.

Available worldwide on Friday, October 15, Dabin’s ‘Between Broken’ features 13 tracks, and serves as the long-awaited follow-up to his critically acclaimed 2019 LP Wild Youth.

A coalescence of diverse styles, sounds, and thought-provoking themes, Between Broken is the wondrous culmination of Dabin’s many talents. Joining his already impressive roster of LPs including his 2017 debut Two Hearts and its subsequent 2019 follow-up Wild Youth, 2021’s ‘Between Broken’ is an inviting celebration of all things serene. Uplifting electronica meets inventive alternative and pop compositions in ‘Between Broken’. Profoundly melodic, Dabin’s third studio album explores motifs of heartbreak, loss, and all-encompassing love.

Opening with the album’s namesake track “Between Broken,” listeners are warmly welcomed into the 13-track escapade in true Dabin fashion: arpeggiated synths, fleeting basslines, and full-bodied harmonies. Previously released singles “When This Is Over” with Nurko ft. Donovan Woods and “Drown” ft. Mokita turned heads with their poignant sound, quickly garnering 10 Million+ combined streams across all platforms.

The LPs third and final single ahead of full release, “Feel Like” ft. Cappa is a stirring reverie of acoustic pop, combining the best of Dabin’s eclectic production style and Cappa’s effervescent vocal capabilities. Dabin’s aptitude to work collaboratively with various vocalists and producers is prominently displayed across ‘Between Broken’.

From familiar faces like MYRNE, Nurko, and William Black, to new pop-punk leaning additions such as Xxajii, Dabin’s ability to amplify his collaborators while simultaneously shining through is impressive.

Though there are variations in pace and theme, each piece of Between Broken flows effortlessly into the next, signifying an artist in full mastery of their capabilities. Effortlessly combining indie acoustic elements with sonic dance-pop flair, Dabin’s expansive sound is unmistakably his own, as signified through his third studio album.

“‘Between Broken’ feels like a return to the sounds that inspired me to make music in the first place,” explains Dabin on his third studio album. “I spent years trying to find and develop my own sound and this record felt like I had the means to pay homage to the sounds that pushed me to create my own music. Growing up I’d listen to a lot of acoustic and folk music. Those genres felt so delicate and intimate and that was a feeling I really wanted to replicate in ‘Between Broken.’ You’ll also hear some mid-west emo and pop punk influences sprinkled throughout the album as a nod to the bands that got me through some tough times.”

“The concept behind ‘Between Broken’ alludes to the idea that we are all just this union of memories and experiences. And more often than not, it’s the negative experiences that shape our character and make us stronger. While it’s easy to let the weight of these negative experiences dictate our sense of self, I think it’s the moments in between these experiences, and how we overcome them, that define us and shape us into the people we are today. The time we spend in between these experiences is just as valuable as the experience itself. This is also where the kintsugi imagery came into play. The process of mending broken pieces with gold to create something new and beautiful felt like the perfect way to represent the meaning behind this album. There is inherent value in between the broken moments of our lives and that’s what I wanted to explore in this album.”

Always reinventing himself through each unique release, Dabin consistently breaks the mold of traditional indie electronic sound. Dabin (real name Dabin Lee) hails from Toronto, Canada, and is now based in Denver, Colorado. The multi-instrumentalist cut his teeth on the sounds of rock and electronic, paving the way for the ephemeral sound the producer delivers today.

With a penchant for playing piano, drums, and guitar, Dabin’s depth for musicality is more than meets the eye. In tandem with Dabin’s release of Between Broken, the multi-hyphenate is set to embark on the remainder of his rescheduled Into The Wild Tour (rescheduled from Spring 2020). With support from Nurko, Last Heroes, Crystal Skies, and more, Dabin’s tour commences on October 8 in Seattle, Washington, and concludes on December 18 in his current residence of Denver, CO. Dabin is additionally slated to perform at a handful of festivals across the country, including upcoming appearances at EDC Las Vegas, Freaky Deaky, and Escape Halloween. Dabin also performed to sold out crowds at this year’s Lollapalooza.
