Two of the most powerful names in dance music, Duke Dumont and Gorgon City, have revealed the music video for their summer anthem ‘Real Life’, featuring NAATIONS.
The video draws influence from the dystopian world that social media could create, delivering a visual experience not dissimilar to an episode of Black Mirror. Influenced by high school experiences, the video directed by Ben & Ross, highlights today’s obsession with likes, selfies and emojis. Reflecting on the track’s powerful sound and message of experiencing ‘Real Life’, the video comes to a head at a school prom when the shy girl being bullied harnesses technology and uses it to destroy the hierarchy of popularity, resulting in her becoming Prom Queen instead.
