Ferry Corsten has announced that he has completed his fifth and, by his own admission, most ambitious artist album to date which is due for release in Spring 2017. A genuine concept album, ‘Blueprint’ is a new LP that Corsten himself sees as being “greater than the sum of its parts”.

Corsten has gone to huge lengths to ensure that the album is able to replicate the idea he has in his mind to its fullest extent. He wants to create an album that tells a story with both its lyrics and use his inspiration from and appreciation for film scores and bring to the project a much bigger scale than he has undertaken in the past.
To this end, Corsten drafted in acclaimed screenwriter David H Miller, of House Of Cards and Rosewood fame. The pair worked closely on establishing an intricate, complex narrative to accompany the albums conceptual direction.
Corsten’s influences are all referenced and paid tribute to in the album, with the likes of Jules Verne, Hugo Gernsback and most distinctively HG Wells all heavily present in his work. Corsten has also included his influences from modern takes on the Sci-Fi genre, from shows such as The OA, Westworld and retro Sci-fi-fest Stranger Things
Hollywood actor Campbell Scott (known for The Amazing Spider-Man and The Exorcism of Emily Rose) provides his voice as the narrator of the album, which shifts between a first and third-person perspective.

This is definitely a unique approach to electronic music and Corsten has clearly taken a great amount of care to ensure his vision is successfully executed.

To give fan a taste of things to come, Corsten has release his first single from the track, which is eponymously titled ‘Blueprint’ on Soundcloud, which you can stream and download below.

With nine shows confirmed across Asia, Europe and North America, the official Blueprint Album Tour will hit Myst in Shanghai, SW4 in London, Exchange in Los Angeles, Webster Hall in New York with more to be announced.
