Having been a fan of dance music and Armin van Buuren since 2003, I was inspired to start my own electronic music publication with a very simple, and clear goal - to share electronic music with old, and new fans alike. Working alongside a great team has made me keep that goal alive, and build on it.

fika – High

We’ve been pretty obsessed with London duo fika since they burst onto the scene last year with their debut release “Wide Eyed.” Set to take their infectious sound even further, they’ve now teamed up with our new favourite label Absent Mind for new single “High.”

fika is making stunning, slightly jazzy chilled sounds that get catchier with every listen. “High” sees them marry together thoughtful, soulful lyrics with deep grooves and jazz-infused progressions. The duo seamlessly blends genres to create something fresh and original.

Make sure you keep an eye out for what’s next from fika – we expect 2019 to be a big one.

About fika

Also known as Sam and Al, fika draws on varied musical influences to carve out their unique sound. Friends since studying music together, the duo dropped their debut single ‘Wide Eyed’ last year before going on to release a further three to continue growing their audience.

“The South London duo have produced a sound of timeless soul and modern pop, chilled dance and subtle and supple grooves co-existing.” – Daily Playlists

“A glacial electronica is weaved around a gazey-RnB guitar that affords Here To Stay a dreamy haziness while the percussion creates context” – Emerging Indie Bands

“Meet FIKA and their effortless new groove, intertwining catchy melodic vocals with powerful guitar riffs.”
