Sonny Moore a.k.a Skrillex has gotten back with his emo band, From First to Last. Together they released a new single named – Surrender, which is co-written and co-produced by Skrillex. You will also hear Skrillex doing vocals in this new single. Isn’t that great news?
Skrillex sent the world of musical enthusiasts, who enjoy emo music in a frenzy, by tweeting that he has made a new song with his former band, From First to Last. He posted – “I don’t wanna make a big deal about it but, I made a new song with my old band From Fist to Last and we decided to give it away for free in a few hours.”
On reading this, fans went crazy, which you can see in the screenshots below. We sure felt a world of excitement only by scrolling through the fan reactions.
This is the second single that Skrillex has released in the past 18 months with From First To Last. The release has stirred an excitement amongst all his fans which include the ones who know him as Skrillex and the ones who know him as Sonny from the 2000’s.
18 months ago, Skrillex released the single ‘Make War’ while celebrating his birthday with From First to Last. Skrillex has been the lead singer with From First to Last from 2004 – 2007, and he has also been a part of two major albums i.e. 2004’s ‘Dear Diary, My Teen Angst Has a Bodycount’ and 2006’s ‘Heroine’. He then left to pursue his solo career in the electronic dance music realm to avoid any further damage to his voice. He went on to issuing a 2009 album named ‘Gypsyhook’ under his own name – Sonny, which was followed by adopting his stage name Skrillex. His final transition to EDM took place in 2010 with his EP, ‘My Name is Skrillex’. Skrillex then went on to winning eight Grammy’s through the course of his career, making him the highest awarded DJ in the EDM realm.
Skrillex has been relatively quiet on his work front this year, but he has popped up as a producer on other artist tracks like Lykke Li’s, ‘Two Nights’ and The Weekend’s surprise album, ‘My Dear Melancholy’. He also recently announced the release of a track with his Feelcycle collaboration.
Well, we are pretty ecstatic with ‘Surrender’s’ release, but, we are wondering if there will be another track with Skrillex and From First to Last. What do you think?
