Australian producer and singer-songwriter GG Magree made her Monstercat debut today, with the intoxicating new single, “My Wicked.”
Appearing on her forthcoming EP, the song is a brilliant showcase of GG’s inherent ability to coalesce her authentic lyricism with her guitar-led bass sound. Introducing themes that will carry on throughout the project, “My Wicked” attempts to protect the innocence of love while questioning the bitterness of its pitfalls, enveloped by GG’s angelic vocals and anthemic melodies.
GG Magree shares, “In a state of confusion as to why I was addicted to the pleasure and pain of love, I wrote “My Wicked.” They say love will tear us apart but also, all you need is love. We all have demons, but it’s about picking which demons own a piece of your heart.”
Since breaking onto the Sydney club circuit in 2016, GG has catapulted from local celebrity to globally-renowned musician. Her rock-infused electronic records have earned her collaborations with household names like Zeds Dead, NGHTMRE, and Sullivan King, as well as her latest side project ‘so tuff so cute’ with Mija. This year she’ll perform across iconic festival stages including Ultra and Coachella, bringing fans brand new music and special surprises in the lead up to her EP.
