Having been a fan of dance music and Armin van Buuren since 2003, I was inspired to start my own electronic music publication with a very simple, and clear goal - to share electronic music with old, and new fans alike. Working alongside a great team has made me keep that goal alive, and build on it.

Revealed: Most searched names of 2018 on Google, in electronic music

Global online search giant Google has announced its annual year in search list that unveils the most popular names and events searched in 2018.

In the category of electronic dance music, the entire list consists (in chronologic order) of Swedish House Mafia, David Guetta, Armin van Buuren, Fatboy Slim, Benny Benassi, Carl Cox, Paul Oakenfold, Laidback Luke, Steve Angello, and Marshmello.

It’s no surprise to Swedish House Mafia on the list, after their stunning reunion that took place at ULTRA Miami 2018, earlier this year.

With more than 41 million listeners tuning in each week to his SiriusXM radio show “A State of Trance”, trance giant Armin van Buuren is considered one of the top DJs and music producers in the world, having been voted as the #1 DJ worldwide five times and hence is someone we probably expected to see on the list.

Armin van Buuren said, “Wow! This is so cool and such great news to hear; what an honor to make it in Google’s search list of 2018. Behind every search is someone looking for my shows or music. Connecting my music to my fans is the most important thing for me. My thanks go out to Google and even more so to my fans for their amazing support. I wouldn’t be on this list without you!”

Marshmello has had a phenomenal year as well, with some huge hits like ‘Happier’. His music has proven to be extremely popular this year, and hence it’s not a surprise to see him on the list.

Other names include Techno king – Carl Cox, 1/3 of Swedish House Mafia – Steve Angello, Benny Benassi, Paul Oakenfold, and Laidback Luke.
