Ohio based duo Half An Orange, and Inukshuk come together to create the lyrically aesthetic single, Left Behind. Out on Monstercat, the track blends together the best of the abilities from both the acts.

Crisp drum works welcome you in the track, before the piano melodies and subtle percussions surface. Making it sound like a country-classic, the beautiful vocals are accompanied by some soothing guitar works and a subtly enriching drop. Giving it a bright ending, the artists definitely manage to make you groove to it all along!

The duo Half an Orange is comprised of Andrew Spellman and Michael Maloof. It is interesting to know how the unique name came about. It comes from a Portuguese expression that Michael learned on while living on a Rio de Janeiro beach and is a translation of ‘metade da laranja’ which literally means ‘Half an Orange’. The idea behind it is that we are all half oranges looking for that other half in a person, thing or purpose in order to complete ourselves! While they are creative and choosy in their ways of picking a name, the same is true with their music.

Michael initially started to share his poems with Andrew and together, they transformed it into acoustic sounds and later, an electronic production. We’re glad that they started doing it because their music sounds absolutely real, raw and rich in expression. They debuted on Monstercat with Old Friends featuring Blonde Maze, earlier in June this year.

Hailing from London Canada, Inukshuk has been producing a diverse array of electronic genres since entering the scene in February of 2012. Coming from underground metal and post-hardcore, this 22-year old musician stays true to his roots by composing a variety of sounds that incorporate heavy melodic influence. His passion continues with a drive and dedication that never ceases, constantly developing and expanding his skills as a multi-genre producer.

Truly, this combination has worked out great! With such music coming from young talents like them, the future seems secure! What do you have to say about it? Let us know below.
