While the music industry as a whole is showing up to do their bit during this Coronavirus pandemic, The Chainsmokers decided to do their bit.
What is now the global hotspot of the pandemic, New York City has been struggling to keep up with the massive influx of infected patients.
The Chainsmokers decided to help with critically needed PPE (personal protective gear) to Weill Cornell Medicine and its healthcare workers in NYC. They donated 10,000 N95 masks to help these front liners.
While The Chainsmokers themselves are on a social media hiatus from before the pandemic even began, to work on new music, Weil Cornell took to social media to thank the duo and also appreciate how grateful they are to all healthcare workers in these times and specifically the NYPD and the Diocese of Brooklyn Emergency Taskforce for all their hard work.
Sincerest thanks to @TheChainsmokers for donating 10,000 N95 masks to #WCM to protect our #HealthcareHeroes on the frontlines. Grateful to #NewYorksFinest from @NYPD and @BrooklynDiocese's Emergency Taskforce for ensuring safe delivery of #COVID19 supplies. #TogetherWithWCM pic.twitter.com/OZYOZjSLxb

While we have no updates in these times of quarantine from The Chainsmokers due to their absence on social media, what better time could there be for the duo to dedicatedly work on new music as per their plan.
As they had signed off social media saying they needed to focus on working on “TCS4” their next studio album, they assured fans that they would be back on social media “soon (ish)”, but at that time also went on to urge fans not to be shy to “come and say hello” if they see them, as they will definitely be around in real life. Since then we have all been hit by the invisible enemy, a.k.a. COVID-19, so if and when that will happen remains to be seen. But in the meantime, you can read their entire last social media post here.
We surely can’t wait for new music from The Chainsmokers, if that’ll be pre or post quarantine now remains to be seen.
