Rearing its mind-rattling head just in time for the tail end of the All Hallow’s Eve festivities is a devilishly sly new single, “For Your Soul,” from one of the most hyped names coming out of L.A., Noizu.
The fast-rising artist has been turning countless heads with his quirky four-on-the-floor tendencies, earning props from heavy-hitters like Claude VonStroke, Fisher, Annie Mac, Green Velvet and more. But for his next issue, he conjures up a haunting cut that gives rise to an entirely new dimension than what we’ve previously witnessed from the Techne label boss. Pounding drums push out from the shadows, as eerie organ chords and a spine-tingling looped vocal lurch into the foreground. Once the track hits its full stride, there’s absolutely no turning back. From there, Noizu stirs the soul and drives it home via fast-paced panning and scattering synth sequences that take this monster into thumping tech territory. It’s a massive club weapon, one that shows a new side from someone who has hopefully been on your radar for a hot minute now.
While he may not technically be a fresh face within the Insomniac Music Group family, Noizu is stepping up with his first official single for Insomniac Records. In the short span since he skyrocketed up the house hierarchy—having churned out heaters for OWSLA, Confession and his fledgling label—Noizu has made a vast amount of noise with repeat appearances on Chris Lake’s Black Book imprint, as well as a solid cut placed on this year’s EDC Las Vegas 2019 compilation album. And through his Insomniac Recs debut, the buzzing producer adds even more depth to his ever-expanding catalog.
The next couple of months are slammed for the in-demand artist, as he carries on a string of dates that will see him bouncing across the globe from Asia to Australia. During the North American leg of his tour, though, Noizu has a handful of dates lined up with Insomniac, including stops at EDC Orlando, Insomniac’s Night Trip, Bassmnt (San Diego) and Countdown NYE.
