If Found Teams Up With WISNER For New Single, ‘Away From Me’

The booming electronic artist if found joins forces with WISNER on their new single “Away From Me,” marking the former’s third single on SLANDER’s ever-expanding Heaven Sent imprint.

Furthering his reach into the upper echelons of the melodic bass realm, Los Angeles-based producer is crashing the Heaven Sent catalog yet again with another remarkable appearance. Fledgling singer WISNER hops on vocal duties, leaving his forlorn fingerprints on the heart-wrenching track.

“Away From Me” is written from the perspective of a self-aware lover labeling himself as damaged goods. WISNER urges his counterpart to heed the warning and bail before things are too far gone. His distressed vocal delivery is hit head on by if found’s volatile production, which cycles through various physical states like an unstable substance being subjected to too much pressure. From the orchestral builds to the glitch-infused progressions, the mood falls into a game of tug-of-war, moving between pleasant and painful emotions much like the push-and-pull dynamic of the song’s ill-fated couple.

“‘Away From Me’ is about feeling like you are undeserving of love and the self-destructive tendency to push away those closest to you,” says if found. Both its production and songwriting are the culmination of experimenting with several different styles this past year, and it represents what’s to come for my if found project in the near future.”

At this point, WISNER is only holding onto a handful of features within the dance music space. He’s a relative newcomer in this regard, but his talents far exceed his time on the market. His distinct vocals were first showcased on two out of three tracks from Sentient’s ‘Propagation’ EP, which landed during the final stretch of 2021. Last month, he was tapped by BADVOID to bring a haunting quality to the dark drum & bass growler titled “GHOSTED.” Based on his success thus far, the future looks promising for this budding singer.

Carson Maki is the force behind the if found moniker. In his relatively short but unstoppable journey, the bass music producer has enjoyed a meteoric rise on the back of a sound that balances beautiful melodies with controlled yet chaotic sound design. He’s already touched down on several well-respected imprints, having linked up with incredible vocalists from the likes of Meggie York, and Bertie Scott, as well being commissioned for remixes by Stonefox and Gryffin. He first debuted on Heaven Sent last year with his first single “Good News,” featuring Kyle Reynolds. He closed out the year by following up that effort with a heavy-weight collaboration alongside the label founders SLANDER on the Danni Carra-assisted single “Getting Late.”

“Away From Me” is a resoundingly emotional melodic bass single that, despite the connotation of its title, will pull the world even closer to the magnificent talent known as if found.

If found and WISNER’s new single “Away From Me” is available on all platforms via Heaven Sent.
