Following his rowdy contribution of “Monkey Dance” on Disciple Records’ Alliance Vol. 7, Infekt is back full out in 2022 with his ‘Breakout’ EP, out now on Disciple.

The EP opens with “Expression,” an introduction meant to inspire you to step out of your own way and express your true self. A diversion from Infekt’s expedited heaviness, the melodic track encourages you to break away from the fears that are holding you back.

This then leads into the title track of the EP “Breakout.” The high-energy switch up on this track will leave you speechless and pump you up for what’s to come in the tracklist. The third track of the EP is a personal favorite for Infekt – “Accelerator” is inspired by the futuristic anti-gravity racing games that he loves. Consider this track to be the spiritual successor to his hard hitting “Leech Beam.”

“Trigger” is the fourth track that experiments with the heavier side of dubstep, fusing Infekt’s unique style with the notorious machine gun bass. Then, enter into a fantasy with “Orm,” the fifth track named after a dragon in Earthsea, characterized by a hard hitting bassline. The EP closes out with one final exploration with genre, this time in drum and bass.

On the impressive variety of offerings on the Breakout EP, Infekt says: “Experimenting with different styles, genres and techniques is the key to my progress; it is what keeps music production fun for me. In the past, I often haven’t felt confident to release these experiments, but with this EP I’m trying to break that pattern! This is why I titled the EP “Breakout EP”—getting over some of my insecurities and releasing different styles, while still implementing a lot of the sound that I’m known for, and that I have grown into. Very proud to present this EP!”
