Globally renowned label Progressive State Records touches down with something very special indeed, as they present a new release from the revered producer, Alex H.

Beginning his journey in 2008 & rocking clubs the world over, Alex quickly found solace in Progressive House – with his intricate melodies, along with an innovative approach & has seen heavyweight support from the likes of Roger Shah, Tydi, Myon, Shane 54, Boom Jinx & Tom Fall.

Entitled ‘Snip’, Alex H returns to Progressive State Records with a bang & serves up a sublime slice of electronica. Embracing a classic old-school feel, but with much of his now trademark production elements, ‘Snip’ signals a fine return for Alex H & underlines his continued rise up the global ranks.

Alex H – Hey there, thank you for having me for this interview – 2018’s been good to me so far, got a lot of things in the pipeline working on my second album and just finishing off an EP off for Progressive State.

T.H.E – Tell us a bit of how your love affair with Progressive House started. Were there any artists that influenced you?

Alex H – Ah! It started way back in 2009/10, I just fell in love with the sound.

T.H.E – What are your views on how the sound has evolved?

Alex H – It really has evolved since 2008, it’s a lot more melodic now.

T.H.E – Congratulations on your new single ‘Snip’. Tell us a little about the production process that went into it & how you came to sign to Progressive State Records?

Alex H – Snip was really different from how I made my arps, I feel like my sound has matured a bit, in how I make my melodies and production.

T.H.E – Which is your most preferred DAW to work on, and why?

Alex H – Ableton – I just love the layout of it, everything is easy to find and easy to use.

T.H.E – We are sure our readers would love to know the answer to this question. Tell us how you generally go about naming your singles?

Alex H – Well, I normally name tracks after where I’m from in Zimbabwe but for this one, I named it after a friend of mine whom I played “JK2” with online, JK2 is a Star Wars game made in 2002 haha. It’s still alive!

T.H.E – Which three artists within Progressive House, do you feel are constantly driving the scene forward?

Alex H – Roald Velden, Talamanca & South Pole, love all their tracks.

T.H.E – Lastly, what are your plans for the rest of 2018 release wise?

Alex H – I got an album to finish and I’ll be doing a few EP’s this year too. Really hoping the album goes well comes out, would love some international gigs.
