John Gibbons Releases Summer Smash ‘Hotstepper’

After smashing over 165m+ catalog streams and achieving platinum-selling singles in Australia, UK, and Ireland, DJ John Gibbons is back with a bang to get you dancing this summer with his new single ‘Hotstepper’ a fun, refreshing spin on the much-loved classic ‘Here Comes The Hotstepper’ by Ini Kamoze bound to get you in the mood for the sunshine.

‘Hotstepper’ follows on from John’s previous global summer successes, with singles including P.Y.T (Pretty Young Thing) and Would I Lie To You firmly placing John as the king of summer soundtracks. These global smashes have received extensive support throughout streaming where he has appeared on Spotify playlists like Motivation Mix (3.8m), UK Top 50 (2m) and Massive Dance Hits (1m) had key radio support from Radio 1, 2, Capital and Kiss and 30m+ views on Youtube. As a result of this great support, John also achieved a top 5 club chart position in addition to Shazam success with a #1 in Australia and Top 5 in the UK. Adding to his achievements he has secured a #1 dance hit in the UK with his single ‘A Spaceman Came Travelling’, proving his hit-making credibility.


John says of his new single, “Hotstepper is a track I began work on a little while ago and have had success with reworks of ‘Would I Lie To You’ and ‘PYT’ in past years, it felt like this was the perfect single for me to complete the trio of classic covers and smash into summer with a bang! It was such a pleasure to work with a vocal as iconic and fun as this and I’m incredibly excited for everyone to hear what I hope will be the feel-good track of summer 2019!”

Over the years John has built his international status and is one of the most exciting DJ’s on the scene in the dance world having sold out 2 headline shows, which have included the iconic Olympia Theatre in Dublin, supporting the likes of The Chainsmokers, Justin Bieber, Tiesto and Alan Walker on headline stadium shows and not to mention performing at multiple festivals at including Creamfields, Electric Picnic and more. John will begin a residency this summer at BCM Mallorca, where epic artists like Steve Aoki and Martin Garrix have been previously hosted.
