Following the announcement of Koven’s debut LP on Monstercat ‘Butterfly Effect’, they recently dropped the stunning, emotive single ‘Your Pain’, another masterfully produced track by the duo.
To celebrate its release, we caught up with Max & Katie who let us know the tracks which have become defining moments for the pair, after witnessing them live. These are tracks which have also gone on to influence their own electric performances, leading them to become a staple across many European stages, including at Liquicity, Rampage and Let it Roll Festival.

Chemical Brothers – Swoon
The visuals for their live shows are mind blowing and insanely trippy. I’ve seen them a few times in the past but most recently at Glastonbury 2019 and this track just stuck with me after that set.
The Prodigy – Breathe
It goes without saying one of the best live acts of all time and it’s one of the greatest tracks ever to hear live.
Porter Robinson – Languages
I’ve heard this song in the crowd so many times, always with my best friends and so for that reason whenever I hear it, it just makes me happy!
Jon Hopkins – Emerald Rush
Jon Hopkins sets are always a bit special, feels like they take you on a journey. This track is a moment carrier!
Chase & status – Blind Faith
I love how Chase and status have changed their sound with every album but they always remain to create impeccable live shows with so much energy. Plus, this song is just beautiful from the very first second.
Wilkinson – Take You Higher
One of those tracks that it doesn’t matter what country or what crowd you are in as soon as you hear those 4 notes come in everyone loses it!
I am Legion – Make Those Move
When the mighty forces of Noisia and Foreign Beggars combine it was always going to be something nuts – and that’s exactly what this track is, especially live!
Mark Knight ft Skin – Nothing Matters (Noisia Remix)
I’ve seen Noisia more times than I can count, and they don’t always play this track in every set but when they do – damn it’s good.
Odezsa – A Moment Apart
Sadly, I’ve never been in the crowd for this one, Odezsa are one of the acts I’m desperate to see. I have however watched their live version of this on YouTube and its phenomenal, with trumpet players, drummers and violins – insane!
Above & Beyond – Sun & Moon
I love trance music and Above & Beyond are undoubtedly the champions of trance. This song will never get old and I’ll never get tired of hearing it.
