Kozlow Drops Playful New Single ‘Cowboy Killers’ on AFP

Brooklyn-based DJ, producer, violinist, and ANTHR FCKNG PARTY founder Kozlow has released his latest single “Cowboy Killers” on AFP, arriving October 3, 2025.

Following the buzz of his underground debut “Untitled,” the multi-talented artist is back with a track that shows a completely different side of his creativity.

“Cowboy Killers” is a playful, cinematic house cut that blends funky basslines, driving four-on-the-floor beats, twangy guitar riffs, cheeky vocal snippets, and even the call of a crow. The track embodies Kozlow’s knack for merging unconventional elements with infectious grooves.

The inspiration came from an unlikely mix of experiences. After attending Stagecoach Festival, Kozlow found himself thinking about how country and western themes could collide with modern indie dance production. While working on the track during a backyard session in Venice, California, he was interrupted by a crow whose calls eventually made it onto the record. “It was the bird, the guitar, the groove,” Kozlow explained. “And of course, a silly vocal to tie it all together.”

As with every AFP release, visuals are a central part of the project. The single’s artwork and accompanying party posters were created by NYC film photographer Abi Polinsky, who serves as AFP’s creative director. This tight-knit approach ensures that each release is as much a visual experience as it is a sonic one.

Reflecting on the process, Kozlow added: “Cowboy Killers came together after I got back from Stagecoach a few years ago. I had the greatest time at the festival and left wondering how I could fuse country/western themes with modern indie dance production. I was working on my laptop in my buddy’s backyard in Venice, CA, and this crow, who appears to live there, was being pretty vocal with his thoughts on the record. Suddenly, these three elements made perfect sense to me – the bird, the guitar, the groove. And of course, a silly vocal to bring the whole thing home.”

To celebrate the release, Kozlow has several live dates lined up, where fans can expect to hear “Cowboy Killers” alongside his growing catalog of inventive productions. His upcoming shows include:

  • Oct 4 – Marquee with Fisher, New York City
  • Oct 5 – AFP x Gost Town, Venice AfterBurn, Los Angeles
  • Nov 1 – ANTHR FCKNG HLWN PARTY, White Lodge, New York City
  • Nov 8 – Outer Heaven, New York City

With “Cowboy Killers,” Kozlow continues to expand his sonic identity, proving that his work as a DJ, producer, and violinist cannot be confined to one genre. From his underground debut to his latest single, his bold creativity is setting him apart in the indie house and electronic music scenes.
