KUURO – Swarm

Swarm

Following up official remixes for Zedd & Liam Payne and Boombox Cartel in September, KUURO ventures into uncharted territory with Swarm, their first journey into dubstep since their breakout debut on Monstercat last October. Staying true to their signature dark & menacing sound, sinister synths pound the speakers creating a powerful bassline strictly for the head bangers.

“I was messing around with some sounds and and came up with this gnarly bassline that just makes you want to headbang,” said Jordin Post of KUURO. “We were intrigued on what KUURO music would sound like if we went heavier, and “Swarm” was born,” added Luke Shipstad.

Their sixth release on Monstercat, “Swarm” is not for the faint of heart and only for the most serious bass heads. It’s this consistency of high quality releases that is making a formidable impression on the dance music industry and keeps their growing fanbase continually engaged and coming back for more.

About Kuuro

KUURO [cure-oh] is miles beyond your cliché new act.

With over a decade of combined production and engineering experience, members Jordin Post & Luke Shipstad usher in a new project and sound for 2017: their bass music alias, KUURO.

KUURO takes their gravitation towards bass music and places it on a collision course with the duo’s affinity for the diverse palette of Asian cultures and aesthetics, and transforms it into a cutting edge approach to electronic music.

In October 2016 KUURO made a lasting impression on the vast Monstercat fanbase with their debut release “Aamon”, which was hailed by fans as one of the strongest debuts in label history and quickly hit the Spotify Viral 50 in four countries.

Their friendship and passion for pushing dance music boundaries has led them into the spotlight by producing official remixes for Galantis, Dillon Francis & NGHTMRE, What So Not & BURNS, and Boombox Cartel. Most recently, Zedd discovered KUURO’s music and requested their remix duties on “Get Low” with Liam Payne as the official remix for his Echo Tour. KUURO’s music has reached far & wide and has received support from the likes of David Guetta, Afrojack, Knife Party, Dyro, MAKJ, Ephwurd, Metrik, Apashe, Diskord and many others.

With an insatiable desire for only the highest quality of music production, KUURO’s vision is to encompass a wide array of feelings and moods, from high energy bangers to more laid back and moody records as well. Their newfound love for the genre has allowed them to become creatively unhinged to explore new soundscapes and push their ideas to the very limit and beyond. With this direction, KUURO is poised to be an act that takes their vision to the stage and dominates the dance world in 2018 and beyond.
