Multi-hyphenate Lamorn unveils a new 2-track offering ‘Between Us’ ahead of his forthcoming debut mau5trap EP.

Comprised of a vocal-driven “Between Us,” and instrumental “Lance Mountain,” the next chapter of Lamorn’s EP is available worldwide on Friday, October 15 via the deadmau5-run label. Lamorn’s Encore EP releases in full on Tuesday, November 9, and features “Physical Layer” and “Lonely Light” ft. Molly Otto.

With a penchant for fusing sonic electronic production with lush alternative instrumentation, Lamorn is a teenage virtuoso, championing a unique stadium-indie sound with each new release and live performance.

His latest release kicks off with “Between Us, it’s robotically funky namesake single. Featuring a vocal performance from Lamorn himself, the brilliant track serves as a shining testament to Lamorn’s innate dexterity as an artist. “Lance Mountain,” it’s B-side offering, serves as an instrumental-laden modular feat riding the cusp of blog-haus and modern day alternative. True to Lamorn’s effervescent charm, “Lance Mountain” is wistful instrumentation coupled with provoking sound design, drawing its name from the artist’s favorite skateboarder. “Over the years, my Lamorn project was always something I thought I would keep fairly detached from my thoughts and emotions,” details Lamorn on his 2-track release. “‘Between Us’ is the first time I let that guard down. Since then this has become less of a ‘project’ and more of an extension of my life, where I can be 100% myself.”

Hailed by Billboard Dance as “inimitable talent,” Lamorn’s swift rise to stardom has been echoed by all corners of the industry, from leading tastemakers to accomplished musicians alike.

The prodigal artist rose to critical acclaim with his debut mau5trap release Physical Layer, receiving high praise from Rolling Stone, MusicTech, Billboard Dance, MP3 Mag, and many more. His subsequent follow up Lonely Light garnered attention from Forbes, who called Lamorn’s music “spellbinding.”

To date, Lamorn has graced multi-thousand attendee audiences across North America with his captivating live show, including sold out performances at The Brooklyn Mirage (NYC), The Rawhide Event Centre (Arizona), and The Factory (St. Louis). This November, Lamorn is set to accompany deadmau5 as the special guest for both nights of Day of the deadmau5 at Red Rocks (November 4 & 5, Morrison, CO), as well as his Day of the deadmau5 in Miami, FL (October 28-31).

At only 18-years-old, Lamorn shows a mastery of sonic composition and storytelling with each new remix and original, pointing to skills well beyond his years. After submitting a track to deadmau5’s mau5trap Monday’s in August of 2020, the label boss himself took quick notice.

Deadmau5 (real name Joel Zimmerman), blown away by Lamorn’s talent, immediately requested stems from the young producer, in sheer disbelief of what the artist had created. That same week, Lamorn would be declared the winner of ATTLAS & mau5trap’s remix competition for ATTLAS’ hit single “Half Light” ft. Alisa Xayalith.

The entire mau5trap and Seven20 family had set their sights on Lamorn in the span of just a few days. A few months later, deadmau5 personally enlisted Lamorn to remix his hit single “Bridged By A Lightwave” ft. Kiesza, which rose to critical acclaim. Now, Lamorn is rightfully dubbed as deadmau5’s musical protégé by the mau5trap founder himself, and tours alongside the dance music pioneer.

Boasting many impressive accolades including an official remix of deadmau5 and Kiesza’s hit single “Bridged By A Lightwave,” as well as official remixes for Judah & The Lion’s “Spirit,” SHAED & Two Feet’s “Part Time Psycho,” and ATTLAS’ “Half Light” ft. Alisa Xayalith, the story of Lamorn is only just beginning. With more new music to come throughout the course of 2021, Lamorn is an artist to watch now and well into the future.

“My life has changed a lot this past year,” explains Lamorn on his Encore EP. “I can feel my childhood moving further away, as adult life is beginning to kick in. ‘Encore’ reflects on that, being a song about missing the past, but also looking forward to the memories that are yet to be made. It’s always been a goal of mine to make a body of work that feels like a good representation of who I am in a certain era of my life. The first time I listened through the finished tracklist, I knew immediately that I had achieved that goal. This is me, and I’m very excited about that.” Lamorn’s debut mau5trap EP Encore releases in full on Tuesday, November 9.
