Japanese-Australian electronic duo Lastlings have released a pair of official remixes of their track ‘False Reactions’ from their highly-acclaimed debut album First Contact.
Out Now on RÜFÜS DU SOL’s Rose Avenue Records and Astralwerks Records, forward-thinking house selector LP Giobbi’s remix taps in with her signature piano-infused melodies while Australian-based production duo X CLUB. serve up a raw and energetic interpretation of the track.
LP Giobbi becomes the latest artist to enter the expanding First Contact universe. Her versatility as a producer, DJ, label owner, curator, music director, feminist, entrepreneur and “Piano House Queen” has made her one of dance music’s most electrifying disruptors. She is also the founder of FEMME HOUSE, an educational platform created to address the lack of representation and equity in electronic music by empowering women as artistic creators.
LP Giobbi’s ‘False Reactions’ remix delivers her foundational piano house sound while holding on to the powerful emotion of the original.
Born through a desire to experiment and push the boundaries of modern club music, X CLUB. is a Brisbane-based production duo created by Ben Clarke and Jesse Morath. The pair saw a recent EP on Aussie rave powerhouse Steel City Dance Discs, have a forthcoming release on Lobster Theremin’s 10PILLSMATE, and were recent guests on Mall Grab’s SCDD Rinse FM show.
Meddling with elements of techno, house, breakbeat, and electro, X CLUB.’s productions refuse to be tied down by genre, with their ‘False Reactions’ remix taking on a similar no rules apply aesthetic.
Lastlings’ ‘False Reactions’ remixes follow the recent success of their ‘Out of Touch’ remix pack and First Contact Acoustic EP. Electronic artists CRi and Paraleven both delivered ethereal, club-focused renditions of ‘Out of Touch’ last month, following Lastlings stripped back First Contact Acoustic EP.
These live instrumentative versions of Lastlings’ hit tracks ‘No Time’, ‘Deja Vu’, ‘Take My Hand’, and ‘Out of Touch’, set the stage for the sibling duo to get back on the road with restrictions lifting in Australia.
Released this past November, First Contact remains massively received amongst fans and critics alike, earning 30 million streams across platforms and support from Forbes, Wonderland Mag, NME, triple j, and KCRW. Lastlings’ momentum spilled rapidly into 2021, kicking off the year with a feature on SG Lewis’ track ‘All We Have’ from his recent full-length Times album followed by the honor of remixing Bob Moses’ ‘The Blame’.
