One of Holland’s most strongest up-and-coming DJ-producer and songwriter MARF delivers a striking new tune ‘Monday’ featuring Philip Strand via Spinnin’ Records.
Driven by ecstatic beats and strings, the song revolves around the passionate vocals of Swedish singer-songwriter Philip Strand, who co-wrote the lyrics with catchy hooks and captivating melodies. The result is a refined crossover between organic sounds, effective songwriting and electronic accents, marking an undeniable next milestone for MARF’s inexhaustible creativity.
Dutch talent MARF is absolutely living up to the reputation of the new kid on the block. Going back to 2020, when the young twenty-something was already making waves with one of his first releases Sweet Mistake (alongside KAAZE), on Hardwell’s label Revealed Recordings.
On the move ever since, more key tracks have followed, including Miss You (a collab with Tungevaag and Sick Individuals), Give Me Your Love (with Lucas & Steve) and Somebody To Love (with WULF), all released on Spinnin’ Records, where his sound fully evolved and matured. Elsewhere, MARF also dropped huge club hit Okay released on Nicky Romero’s Protocol in 2021, leading to an official remix by Afrojack.
Praised and supported by many world famous DJs and racking up tens of millions of streams, MARF has also developed his writing skills, as the songwriter-producer behind Dutch hit sensation FLEMMING. Now he delivers Monday, his first official solo release of 2023. Immediately he makes it clear his penchant for catchy melodies has only increased, delivering a song that has all the elements to become his next big tune.
MARF gives plenty of room for the instant infectious vocals of Philip Strand, the Swedish singer-songwriter in shape. He’s known for collaborations with Lucas & Steve and Deepend, among others, whilst scoring a big hit last year with his Tungevaag and Sick Individuals collab With My Friends, and of course his team up with Armin van Buuren for Roll The Dice, a record that reached no.1 of the Top 50 US Dance Airplay.
On ‘Monday’, Philp Strand’s vivacious vocals are effortlessly wrapped into graceful strings, working towards a crescendo that bursts out in a grand chorus. When the drop arrives, MARF provides thrilling production, where rhythmic chords and fired up beats create a true ecstatic moment. While Strand screams out ‘I keep running back to you’, his emotional outcry is provided with the exact amount of musical bliss, working wonders across the full range of the release.
‘Monday’ makes for a typical blend of power pop and electronic music, provided by a highly talented producer-songwriter who’s familiarised himself with both sounds these last years. MARF is able to give room to an overwhelming song, whilst also providing energy with enchanting rhythms that emit the days with added rays of sunshine.
