Forbes just declared its top earning musicians of 2019 and the list surely looks interesting.
The list starts off with Taylor swift holding 185 million dollars, which is obviously because of studio album “lover” and a world tour. 2nd is Kanye west with 150 million which is essentially made out of his new hit album “Jesus is King” and selling Yeezys.
Here is the interesting part, Three of the Musicians are from Electronic dance music field and managed to bag more value than Kendrick Lamar, Celine Dion and Shawn Mendes.
Calvin Harris is placed at 34 whilst holding a tie alongside Kendrick Lamar and Zac Brown Band with total annual earnings of 38.5 million dollars.
Marshmello, who has had a relatively successful year is placed at 29, tied alongside The Weeknd and DJ Khaled bagging a whopping 40 Million dollars.
The highest paid act of Electronic Dance Music, DJ/Producer duo Chainsmokers are placed at 24 with a lavish 46 Million dollars, lagging just a little behind the Legendary Paul McCartney and Ariana Grande.
This shows evidential proof that electronic music is mainstream consumption art and electronic musicians are being treated no less than the artists of various other mainstream genres.
