Stop Start Slow Fast

Everyone loves this unpredictable Dutch rebel who thrives on music to challenge. Mason is a veteran DJ/producer that refuses inspiration from malleable and ever-changing trends that surround so much of the music industry in 2018. After mastering yet another musical direction with recent single Stop Start Slow Fast, Mason explores more underground realms with the likes of up and coming producer Parx and solid skills of ZDS. In addition, we’re treated to a private Mescal Mix from Mason himself.

After a childhood surrounded by an actress Mother, Sculptor Father and a sister on the stage, it’s no wonder Mason carved out his own route to electronic musical madness. Mason’s studio creations boast equal parts groove, melody, and complete eccentricity – no matter what the genre. Previous works have seen a pick and mix approach that featured elements of hip-hop, house, electro, funk, and disco. Over his career so far, Mason has created an unusual balance of utterly credible house bangers, alongside commercially viable radio hits. Known for his break out single Exceeder back in 2007, Mason’s music has developed after collaborations with the likes of Stefflon Don, Roisin Murphy, Run DMC, Sway, Jocelyn Brown and Kurtis Blow.

Joining Mason for a sophisticated take on the original, ZDS is a London born and bred musical expert that has utilised his distinct take on house music. ZDS has picked up diverse support from high flyers Heidi, Eats Everything, Richy Ahmed and Claude VonStroke. He’s known for heavy Radio 1 support on Bang, as well as Ibiza fuelled gem, Rick James. Taking an eventful approach to the mix, Parx is an up and comer that’s rising fast in the house scene. This young producer plays with structure and reflects intentional musical turmoil in a way Mason would enjoy. Having seen support from Danny Howard and Pete Tong, Parx is building up an impressive repertoire of remixes, singles and collaborations alike.

Stop Start Slow Fast is a house track that holds a cheeky syncopated rhythm and a funky and equally hesitant groove. The original track saw support from impressive names in the field such as Sonny Fodera, Roger Sanchez, The Magician, Superlover, Horse Meat Disco, Riva Starr and Steve Lawler. In his new private mescal mix, Mason develops the track with emphasis on a heavy groove and the intensely high-pitched build. Making sure to hold predominant focus on the instruments and repetitive vocal from the Manor, the finale welcomes a newfound level of energy.

Continuing to grasp Mason’s excitable nature, this triple threat release encourages more musical mayhem, with a definite and respectful nod to the prolific influence of the underground.
