Norwegian producer and DJ, Matoma has landed another hit with his latest track ‘Lonely’ featuring ‘Lights Down Low’ hitmaker MAX.
Already at 7 million streams, ‘Lonely’ has hit Spotify’s New Music Friday playlist in multiple countries all over the world. Its huge UK playlist support has included an extended run on The Pop List.
Now ‘Lonely’ is set to gain even more admirers with the exciting news that superstar DJ and producer Steve Aoki has become the biggest artist to have remixed a Matoma track.
Steve Aoki’s remix playfully ramps up the intensity of the original with bombastic bass-heavy drops which amplify the track’s dynamic energy.
Both of them celebrated completing the remix in a way that will be familiar to Aoki’s legions of fans. Matoma rewarded his friend with a $5.99 cake, which inevitably resulted with him getting #caked. Watch their reaction in slow motion by clicking on the image below:
The original version of ‘Lonely’ offers a taste of what to expect from Matoma’s forthcoming debut ‘One A Million’ album. The songs – which include the recent Noah Cyrus collab ‘Slow’ – share an atmosphere that’s inspirational and uplifting, but they’re all stories drawn from real life experiences.
Hailing from Trondheim in Norway, Matoma is a 26-year-old producer, songwriter and DJ whose biggest four tracks have a combined total of over a billion streams on Spotify alone. He started 2018 by embarking upon his ‘One In A Million’ World Tour which included a run of 12 sold-out US shows before it finished with two triumphant homecoming shows in Trondheim, Norway.
