Mazare returns to Lost In Dreams with the first offering taken from his forthcoming EP on Lost In Dreams Records with heartfelt drum & bass single “Stay,” featuring esteemed singer-songwriter Josh Rubin.
Mazare continues to solidify his status as one of Italy’s finest drum & bass talents, combining elements of gritty D&B, smooth liquid funk, catchy pop punk and electropop.
On the other hand, Josh Rubin is a Texas-based singer-songwriter that has become a prominent player in the melodic bass and dance pop world. The two phenoms are joining forces on their first collab together “Stay,” an anthemic drum & bass song about trying to reel a lover back in from a rocky romance.
Rubin’s signature vocal croons glide atop an acoustic intro with wistful piano keys and lush acoustic guitar melodies before erupting into a rock-fueled drum & bass groove.
On his upcoming project, Mazare shares: “This song is the start of a new chapter for me. I’ve experimented for years looking for the perfect balance between pop rock and drum & bass, and this first single, and the whole EP, represents ‘square one’ of my melodic sound going forward. Super excited for everyone to hear what I have in store and feeling grateful that all this new music found home at Lost In Dreams.”
Josh Rubin speaks on the meaning behind the collab: “Every relationship has its hurdles and each of us have our downfalls, but this song is about looking past those things and, instead, focusing on what’s really important. Marking his second appearance on Lost In Dreams, Mazare originally debuted on the imprint when he was tapped by the melodic masterminds Crystal Skies to hop on their single “Cruel Summer,” featuring vocalist Bertie Scott, as one of the lead singles from the former’s debut artist album, ‘Not Since When.’ Mazare’s special twist of drum & bass has elevated his presence to the highest of achievements, which include remixes for SLANDER, Seven Lions, Said the Sky and Nurko. Surpassing over 14M streams collectively, Mazare’s stocks keep rising with an affluent list of track support from Illenium, Alison Wonderland, Krewella, Adventure Club & Koven.
With a repertoire of releases for the Lost In Dreams label, Josh Rubin is excited to be working together with Mazare on their first-ever collaboration to date. He first caught Mazare’s attention after appearing on REAPER’s massive drum & bass single “RUNAWAY,” pulled from the the US producer’s debut LP, ‘DISRUPTOR,’ released on Bassrush Records, which Mazare reworked on the official remix album.
Josh Rubin is quickly becoming a household name for the imprint, having performed at their second annual Lost In Dreams festival in Las Vegas in September, in addition to gracing the label previously with a feature on “Remember” for yetep, his “Fight For You” collab alongside Fransis Derelle and GUERRO, and his most recent run-in with nøll and NIKADEMIS on the triple-pronged release, “Next To You.”
