Visionary French melodic techno maestro Michael Canitrot returns with ‘Take It Back’, his most irresistible and anthemic song yet, this time collaborating with celebrated American vocalist Armen Paul.
Bridging the realms of underground techno and modern pop with his music productions, Canitrot is also renowned in his native country for his next level ‘Monumental Tour’ event concept, which combines electronic music performance with architectural video projection and spectacular lighting effects at iconic landmark spaces.
The Monumental Tour concept, supported by UNESCO, is an opportunity for Canitrot to raise awareness for the importance of preserving our heritage and to continue to democratize electronic music and present it in a new context for a larger audience.
Vividly bringing attention to cherished historic sites like Château de Vincennes, Mont Saint-Michel and Phare des Baleines, Canitrot’s innovative vision was broadcast to 6 million viewers on French TV when he performed in front of Château de Chantilly on New Years Eve (see clip here). The next stop on the Monumental Tour will be October 29 in Lisbon.
Regarding his new track, Canitrot says ‘The lyrics encourage us to go beyond our limits and invite us to embrace resilience and perseverance, never to let go even when it sometimes seems impossible to us…to tap into this strength that exists deep inside everyone. I wanted to push this vision with a powerful and spatial production, which oscillates between melodic techno, progressive house with a cinematic orchestral touch’.
Singer Armen Paul adds: ‘‘Michael and I met over 3 years ago – this happened to be the first song we made together. We wrote the song virtually, sharing new ideas and refining the music until it felt perfect. We wanted to create something empowering and anthemic. Michael’s productions are very cinematic which is the type of music I gravitate towards in my writing. This collaboration is the perfect blend of our sonics. ‘Take it Back’ is about taking risks and never losing faith in yourself despite the failures or adversity you may encounter. I hope people find some form of strength when they hear the song.’
