Miley Cyrus is back with her ninth studio album, Something Beautiful, and it’s one of her most personal releases yet.
Best known for hits like Flowers and Wrecking Ball, Miley shifts gears with this raw, emotional project that dives into themes of love, heartbreak, healing, and artistic reinvention.
The album’s standout track, More to Lose, has already caught fans’ attention for its gut-punch lyrics. “I stay, when the ecstasy is far away. I pray, that it’s coming round again. You say it, but I wish it wasn’t true. I knew someday that one would have to choose, I just thought we had more to lose,” she sings, with her signature raspy vocals carrying every ounce of heartbreak. Miley recently performed the song live-in front of several of her exes, no less-though she didn’t name names. With a dating history that includes Liam Hemsworth, Cody Simpson, Nick Jonas, Stella Maxwell, and Kaitlynn Carter, fans are already speculating who inspired the song.
Something Beautiful is more than just an album-it’s a visual experience. All 13 tracks are paired with cinematic visuals that make up a full film, set to premiere at the 2025 Tribeca Film Festival this June. The project has been described as a “one-of-a-kind pop opera,” blending fashion, music, and film in a way that feels uniquely Miley.
The title track, Something Beautiful, also got its own visual treatment, featuring a custom design by Casey Cadwallader for Mugler. In a post on her Instagram, Miley called the release “another bold artistic evolution.” She’s clearly leaning into her multidimensional creativity, pushing boundaries not just in music, but in storytelling and fashion too.
At a recent intimate performance at Hollywood’s Chateau Marmont, Miley gave fans a sneak peek of what’s next. She shared that her upcoming record will be “extremely experimental,” calling Something Beautiful “just the appetizer.” During the event, she performed new songs like Easy Lover, End of the World, and More to Lose, as well as fan-favorite Flowers and a nostalgic acoustic rendition of The Climb-a throwback to her Hannah Montana days.
With Something Beautiful, Miley Cyrus proves once again that she’s not afraid to evolve, dig deep, and take her fans along for the ride. Whether it’s through haunting lyrics, fashion-forward visuals, or emotionally charged performances, Miley is cementing her place as one of pop’s most fearless voices.
The album Something Beautiful is now streaming on all major platforms. Fans can expect more surprises when the visual film drops at Tribeca next month-and even wilder things to come with her next experimental release. One thing’s for sure: Miley Cyrus is far from done shaking things up.
