On Feb 22nd, Monstercat signed a first of its kind original multi-EP record deal with video game developer Psyonix.

This collaboration between Monstercat and Psyonix follows the widely successful Rocket League x Monstercat Vol 1, which has boasted millions of streams since released in July of 2017. Instead of a restrictive licensing deal, this new approach allows Psyonix and Monstercat to maximize the potential of these EPs of unreleased original tracks through their channels to provide an improved platform for artists to be discovered and grow their following through non-traditional distribution.

“With Volume 1 being the success that it was, we are more than confident that this method will be adopted by more developers and music labels for years to come.” -Gavin Johnson

Rocket League x Monstercat Vol. 2 will be available for streaming on Rocket League where the records are currently heard millions of times a day, purchasable over Steam via downloadable content; used for high budget Esports productions like the Rocket League Championship Series; and hosted on Monstercat’s website to be available and utilized by thousands of creators for their content on YouTube, Twitch and Mixer. Distribution on music platforms like Spotify are also included.

In collaboration with Psyonix, we have created a first of its kind stage for artists to be discovered, building on our mission to empowering creators.
