Kicking off 2017 in full force YouTube’s top channel Proximity is announcing some pretty big news. While continuing to be one of YouTube’s largest networks, with a fanbase of 4.2 Million + subscribers and a true taste-maker in dance music, Proximity is announcing they are officially launching their own label!
“To be able to move Proximity as a brand far beyond a YouTube channel is mind blowing to me,” shares founder and director Blake Coppleson, going on he shares, “Music is the reason why I switched my career path to focusing 100% on Proximity, and I want to give back to you, the fans, the content creators, and the people who just want to listen to good music for continuing to support Proximity as a brand. To be able to control the music that goes on Proximity, as well as allowing content creators to use music in their videos for free without having their videos taken down due to copyright strikes, this is why I am moving in this direction!”
To celebrate this exciting message the brand present their first official Proximity release with Morgan Page & Steve James out today. Both artists have had much success over the past few years, with Morgan Page being GRAMMY-nominated and Steve James quickly excelling as one of the most exciting up-and-coming producers in the scene, as well as snagging a Grammy nomination this year, their collaboration is a memorable one to say the least. “I’m really excited for the world to hear my collab with Steve. We joined forces to create an entirely new sound for both of us on “Candles,” so I’m excited to see how people react. Steve is incredibly talented and he’s only 18!
