Mountain Bird reveals his first new song of 2019, the brooding electronica of ‘Quit’.

The single, which features vocals from the producer-turned-artist himself, will be the first taken from a brand new EP – further details of which will be announced shortly.

Mountain Bird (aka Adam Öhman) has become known for his mesmerizing, synth-laden melodies and sleek future-bass style beats – painting a picture of dreamy Scandinavian melancholy. Last year he released an EP ‘Cubism’ which received worldwide critical acclaim.

‘Quit’ is a song about self-sufficiency and taking responsibility for your life and success. “I wrote this when I had moved to Berlin alone to write new songs, and I was really hesitant about all the drastic choices I had made by this time in my life. I’d never lived outside of Sweden before” explains Adam, “I spent a lot of time alone, and I needed a comforting voice, so I decided to create one for myself with a song”

“My experience so far has shown me that as long as I don’t quit, and keep pushing, things will turn out how I want them to; action breeds consequence, not the opposite. There are so many people out there that want everything, right now – but great things take time…as long as I don’t quit.

On Quit, Mountain Bird continues to buck the trend of his earlier releases, singing the vocals himself rather than using a session singer. The result is a deeply personal, and motivational, future-facing electronic pop song.

Since his first releases in 2014, Mountain Bird has received radio airplay from BBC 6 Music’s Steve Lamacq, Radio X, Absolute Radio, Amazing Radio, and garnered fans from the likes of The Line of Best Fit, Clash, The 405, and Ja Ja Ja.
