Lindstrøm and Mammarella have unveiled remixes of the latest Mouth Water single ‘Dr House’, out 1st April.
Tapping into the sunkissed cosmic disco sound that he has come to be synonymous with, the Lindstrøm remix of ‘Dr House’ pairs feelgood, funk-laden synths with euphoric strings. Carrying a similar energy, Mammarella’s acid-soaked rework centres around a hypnotic 303 bassline that evolves into a breathtaking Detroit techno creation.
“Not sure I should say this but in terms of the Lindstrøm remix, I feel it’s the first time I’ve ever had a track remixed where the remix is actually better than the original!” Mouth Water explain.
“Especially the sublime LFO synth sound which the track is built around. I don’t know exactly what he did to this but it really sounds great! Plus all of the other bright new sounds he added into his remix remind me of a cool 1970’s tv theme. As for the Mammarella remix, I think it’s a little further away from the original but it sounds super cool and it works really well on the dancefloor!”
‘Dr House’ is the first in a new series of releases from Mouth Water, and follows on from the most recent single ‘House’, a track that has racked up over 160,000 Spotify streams and counting.
Mouth Water is producer and multi-instrumentalist Lawrence Fancelli, who has enlisted the production prowess of legendary Italo house producer Alex Neri (Planet Funk/Kamasutra) and DJ, producer and drummer Matteo Zarcone, for a new series of releases, all three of whom originate from the beautiful city of Florence.
A multi-instrumentalist, DJ and producer, Lindstrøm is best known for making contemporary disco music and running the label Feedelity Music. He has previously collaborated with contemporaries such as Prins Thomas, Todd Terje and Lindbæk, and dropped high-profile remixes of Charli XCX, Foals and LCD Soundsystem.
Mammarella is an Italian selector, producer and label owner among many other things in the world of music. Boasting a discography that includes dozens of club anthems, remixes and successful collaborations with Lauer (as Black Spuma), Rodion and Clap Rules, he is also the ‘one man band’ in Telespazio, an infamous side project focusing more on experimental music.
Made up of two stunning reworks, the ‘Dr House’ remix package sees the track expertly reimagined by two masters of the craft.
