Prolific writer, singer, and activist Msaki has delivered her highly anticipated albums ‘Platinumb Heart Beating’ and ‘Platinumb Heart Open’, in a double-drop.
Electronic album, ‘Platinum Heart Beating’ is an ode to house music and Msaki’s love for collaboration. Introduced to us by the highly successful first release of “Mntaka Baba” featuring Kabza De Small and Focalistic, Msaki comes out as the unwitting god of the dance floor to give us the feeling of our hearts beating collectively to her melodies and lyrics.
Co-produced by and featuring a cohort of well-respected dance floor talent from both Africa and abroad, you’ll fall in love with “Tomorrow Silver” featuring US DJ and producer Diplo, find comfort in tracks like “UThando Lwam” with Black Coffee, Black Motion and more.
‘Platinumb Heart Open’ is the acoustic/live recorded side of the dual album, with “Fetch Your Life II” and “Statues” having paved the way to this final release, the album is named after Msaki’s open-heartedness, which mirrors the complexities of what it means to love, live and fight in a complex world filled with injustices and paradoxes.
This 18 track album is co-produced with South African legend and cultural icon Neo Muyanga, and includes previously released protest tracks Blood Guns and Revolutions and Anisixabisanga ft. The Brother Moves On which was released on the anniversary of the Marikana massacre day this year.
Across this 30 track double album (with some added interludes) Msaki collaborates with a rich and diverse pool of co-writers, producers, and voices to deliver something exceptional.
