Multi-faceted LA-based producer No Mana made his Monstercat debut today with his feel-good single, “Yesterday.”

Leading with a weightless emotive vocal, the track is fused with sonic and visual elements reminiscent of the ‘90s and 2000’s. Fueled by old but cherished memories, No Mana expresses his nostalgia through the euphoric melodies and bright chords, while modernizing the classic sound with his own electro stylings.

The self-produced cover art is a testament to his pixel art skills and a nod to the single’s theme, featuring throwback relics like a Tamagotchi, a Hasbro i-Dog, and a first generation iPod. “Yesterday” showcases a different side of No Mana’s musicianship which he’ll continue to explore on the label.

No Mana shares, “Despite not being involved in the lyrical direction, this song to me basically means being unable to escape nostalgia. For a while the goal of No Mana has always been to take inspiration from music in an earlier time and modernize it in my own way. Making “Yesterday” was a good opportunity to express exactly that, both instrumentally and lyrically. This was actually one of my most heavily worked on projects with many hours and versions passed. I wanted to make sure I came back with something that sounds exactly how I wanted it to be.”

No Mana has dominated genres from electro to trance, garnering a fervent fan base around his internet humor, video game aesthetic, and flawless production.

Alongside his ‘Electromag’ compilation for the ages and cosigns from deadmau5, Diplo, and other household names, his artisanship is central to his identity having crafted the visuals for his releases, music videos, and live shows since day one. Fans can look forward to catching “Yesterday” live during his North American tour, with 14 forthcoming stops including Las Vegas, Miami, Honolulu, and more to come.
