Maintaining its notoriety for only delivering the very best the genre has to offer, Shimon’s AudioPorn imprint is at it again, this time with their newest acquisition, North Base.
The trio comprising Silver, Splice and Prophecy have been gaining traction steadily with accolades, plaudits and sold out venues since forming back in 2012, and look to have really found their groove both in and out of the studio. “I Found You” follows hotly on the heels of a string of chart-topping releases- most recently the “Polarity EP” on Viper that registered chart scores in most major territories as well as Trei’s remix of “What R U Doing” snaking its way to the top of the Beatport pyramid. The intention with “I Found You” is obvious and as a standalone track is captivating from the start with a sultry piano hook lending itself to a myriad of styles, atmospheres and emotions – as we see in the remix package.

By dialing back the tempo by about 50BPM, The Freestylers affinity for giving any type of track a shift in focus is evident as we bounce through the early stages of the track to come face to face with what is sure to become one of the most iconic bass lines of the summer, THAT piano riff and some beautifully layered vocals.

The everyday Junglist is taken care of with the original, the festival troops are covered with The Freestylers – what about the club? Enter the after dark version by Shimon. The AudioPorn label boss obviously heard something buried in the track and has managed to dig deep and find the inner darkness that was bubbling under the surface. This remix is squarely aimed at decimating dance floors and is likely to be a slam dunk for many of his peers and specialist radio DJs to add to their shows.
