Coming together today for their huge new single ‘Right Here’ are producers Otosan and the legend that is Shadow Child. Dropping through Tiësto’s Musical Freedom records the house track also sees artist Carrie Baxter lend her vocals for the topline.
Ryan Dickinson and Ultan Burke’s sound as Otosan is already unmistakable and brought to another level with Shadow Child’s deep, melodic and purpose-built big room sound on ‘Right Here’. There’s absolutely no kidding around with this release.
Shadow Child has been at the forefront of house music both in Britain and worldwide for over a decade. Having a defining and genre-bending catalogue of original works and remixes, his more recent work has graced such labels as Shall Not Fade, Unknown to the Unknown and Super Rhythm Trax, constantly moving his sound to new territories whilst staying true to his roots.
Otosan’s honour roll in a relevant short space of time is already impressive, clocking over 4 million combined Spotify streams and their latest single ‘Nowhere’ earning them the cover of New Dance Beats playlist. Garnering support from tastemakers such as Hardwell, Diplo, Afrojack & Mistajam, their previous release on Musical Freedom, ‘Feel So Right’ became the 3rd most played bass house tune of 2020.
Last year, Carrie Baxter emerged as one of the most thrilling new forces in Irish music with the release of her debut EP. Kicking off 2021, the singer has recently been added to Spotify’s NMF and R&B UK.
Discussing their new single, Otosan says: ‘’Shadow Child’s name came up early and was someone that both of us know and respect, so we were very happy to hear he was keen to work on the track, and even happier after hearing his take on it, really pushing the classic house vibes. Musical Freedom had sent over the vocal topline we’d recorded with Carrie and a couple of zoom studio sessions later and we had the track wrapped up. It was a great experience working with Simon, a lovely guy and someone with no ego, only a want to do what’s right for the song.
Often the best tracks are those that come together quickly and without too much fuss, ‘Right Here’ definitely falls into that category for us and we hope it brings some fun dance floor moments into the world this year (even if that dance floor is your living room at home).’’
While Shadow Child adds: “Had a lot of fun reworking this one with Otosan, they came to me out of the blue with a musical idea and vocal that was very infectious. I think this one will get love!”
