Armed with a genre-crossing new sound that separates him from other artists, Paul Mayson has catapulted himself into the limelight as one of the most promising and refreshing upcoming electronic acts in dance music worldwide. Being a true tastemaker of the upcoming generation of electronic artists, the young producer and multi-instrumentalist is releasing innovative and organic songs (which he often labels as ‘indie house’) on the most influential record labels and platforms in the world (HEXAGON, Spinnin’ Records, Armada Music, Proximity).

Bridging the gap between electronic production and indie/pop, he kickstarted his career with the release of ‘Pray’, a collaboration featuring the renowned electronic pop-act Far East Movement. This was followed up with several headstrong club tunes, including this year’s HEXAGON release ‘Paralyzed’, featuring John Quarles.

Now, the Dutchman returns to the same label, perfecting his ‘indie house’ sound like he has never done before. The ‘Run EP’ is a four-track exercise, blowing you away with amazing songwriting drenched in 80s synthpop and fresh, 21st century electronics.

“Launching my first four-song EP is a big step for me. My aim was to really try to push boundaries with these records. The songs are a combination of electronic production and strong indie influences. Being able to fully utilise my background of both house music production as well as instrument playing is what made the whole process of this EP so exciting. It took quite a lot of months of writing sessions out here in Amsterdam as well as in LA where I’ve been recording a lot. The process was all about doing something different and implementing a lot of live elements into the songs, as well as working with some talented featuring artists who have their roots in genres that are far away from electronic music.” – Paul Mayson
