Hot off their last release, “Magma,” dynamic duo Pixel Terror returned to Monstercat today accompanied by renowned dubstep producer Spag Heddy for their speaker-busting single, “Carbonara.”

A debut collaboration long in the making, “Carbonara” is the perfect fusion of both artists’ high-octane production styles. Spag Heddy’s hard-hitting basses, thumping drums, and guttural growls drive the track forward, while Pixel Terror’s signature arcade-inspired synths and glitchy chord stabs add a unique melodic layer to the track.

Pixel Terror shares, “We were absolutely stirred when Sacha, one of our close A&R friends at Monstercat, told us Spag would be interested in working on a collab. Back in May, we initially sent an idea over to Mischa (Spag Heddy), and he said it was “too done” (Fun fact: That first song ended up becoming “Magma”). He then sent his own new idea over to us, which felt quite a bit more on brand and cohesive musically for all of us, so we took some time to develop it further and make it pop, and after a few back-and-forths, we arrived at the glory of Carbonara. We are thrilled with how this song dished out between the three of us, and we think you all will be too!!”

Spag Heddy adds, “Pixel Terror is a very talented duo, and I’m excited and proud to have worked with them on this banger and hopefully see them grow even faster with this release.”

After meeting on SoundCloud in 2016, Pixel Terror have steadily cultivated a dedicated community since their first release in 2018. Having found a home at Monstercat, the duo hosts a weekly residency on the label’s Twitch channel, where they share their arcade-driven sound with over 820k followers.

Their unique productions have also earned support from tastemakers such as Moore Kismet, Kayzo, Slushii, and Yultron. With performance debuts at Lost Lands and EDC Las Vegas, and upcoming collaborations with Gammer and HALIENE, Pixel Terror has positioned themselves for a powerful start to 2022.

After leaving his career as a motion graphics designer to pursue music full time, Dutch dubstep producer Spag Heddy has performed around the world across dance music’s biggest stages, including EDC Las Vegas, Bass Canyon, and Lost Lands.

More than a cheeky moniker, he’s found fans in industry heavyweights such as The Chainsmokers, Excision, SLANDER, and Zomboy. Spag Heddy will round out the year on his North American tour with stops at Elektricity in Detroit, Soundcheck in D.C., and more.
