Pixel Terror erects a city of paradise on their ethereal, futuristic dubstep joint, “Elysium,” their first standalone single on Bassrush Records.

One of the defining qualities setting the digitally inclined duo Pixel Terror apart is the fact that their insanely energetic productions are just as animated as the cartoonish characters of themselves, which are often depicted in their artwork.

The project is a treat for the ears and eyes of bassheads who are always in for an epic adventure. Using their knack for world-building, the heavy-hitting production pair is now opening a gateway to their pixelated universe for the Bassrush crew, as they create a city of the future on their new single, “Elysium.”

With modern face-melting bass music as their blueprint, they construct an otherworldly cityscape you would have to hear to believe. Setting out with nebulous melody lines that carry a warm glow like city lights humming in the distance, there’s a soothing level of calm preceding the calamity.

The moment to soak up its beauty is short-lived, however, as the two terrorizers quickly proceed to wreak havoc on the streets with robust Reese bass, impeccable frequency shifters, and enough low-end to level the entire metropolitan area. The stark contrast between its euro-inspired builds/breaks with the catastrophic energy is embedded deep in Pixel Terror’s DNA, and it’s a tool they use wisely here on a small patch of melody-fueled paradise worthy of being printed on a postcard.

“We are very excited to present ‘Elysium,’ our latest concert crusher on none other than Bassrush,” says Pixel Terror. “We’ve been inspired by the label’s latest releases and hoped to contribute to the demand of high-performance bass music.”

Last October, they graced the Bassrush catalog for the very first time by way of their royally aggressive “Imperial” collab with the beast from the middle east, NAZAAR.

Always striving to push the envelope further, Pixel Terror has made it a point to color outside of the lines with a versatile output that has seen them share credits with acts from the likes of Kayzo, Chime, JayKode, neverwaves, and more. “Elysium” makes no exception at testing the limits of melodic bass, and it’s acts as a strong foundation for their forthcoming EP on Bassrush.
