Following up his recent BBC Radio 1 backed collab with Franky Rizardo, Scottish producer Ros T continues to make waves in the electronic sphere with ethereal banger ‘With You’ via Perfect Havoc.
Inspired by a diverse range of influences from the storytelling nature of soul developed by artists like Sam Cooke, George Fitzgerald, Aretha Franklin to the electronic mastery of artists like Groove Armada, Super Flu, and Folamour, the Glasgow based producer’s blend of house, disco and soul have already seen support from the likes of BBC Radio 1’s Danny Howard, Annie Mac, Pete Tong, Sarah Story and BBC Introducing Scotland in addition to legends like Fatboy Slim, Purple Disco Machine, Camelphat, The Martinez Brothers, Mark Knight and Joris Voorn.
Originally born in Glasgow and raised on the Scottish Western Isle of Skye, Ros T’s live performances have taken him across Ibiza, London, Edinburgh, Wales, and more to venues and festivals like Ketflix & Pills, Skye Live, Milkit, The High Dive, Westival, where he played alongside Dan Shake and Peach, and Groove Loch Ness, where he performed on the same lineup as MK and Idris Elba. Not afraid of failure as much as regret, Ros T has pursued a variety of creative passions alongside his artistry since learning to DJ at age 15 from juggling a serious acting career with music to finding escapism in the world of gaming.
Releasing on labels such as Nervous Records, Altra Moda Music, Eton Messy, and more, the producer’s catchy rhythms have attracted collaborations from the likes of Reflekt, Elephant Sessions, Niteworks and DLù to name a few. He is conquering the scene with eclectic style on tracks like collaboration with Franky Rizardo and T-Connection Do What You Wanna Do (Live It Cool) which has amassed over 8M Spotify streams and support across BBC Radio 1 and KISS FM following his debut 2021 collab with Franky Rizardo, Out The Fire (At The Hotel), which saw support from Pete Tong and Annie Mac on BBC Radio 1, KISS FM, and DJ love from Fatboy Slim, Claptone, Low Steppa, and Oliver Heldens.
The producer now demonstrates how 2023 is his year with an exhilarating and imaginative palette cleanser of a track, describing it as “a darker acid-y version of some of The Human League Tunes, maybe with a hint of New Order inspo in there too. It’s more club oriented but it could really be listened to at any time… I can see this being up the streets of a wide scope of different listeners who are looking for something fresh.”
Evolving from haunting ethereum to synth-led dynamite, the soaring dexterity and layers of breezy bliss of ‘With You’ are as soothing as they are rousing, reaffirming that this is only the beginning of a massive year for the producer.
Ros T – ‘With You’ is out 12th May via Perfect Havoc.
