Celebrated Danish producer Rune Rask adds club ready heater ‘Feed Your Soul’ with tastemaker electronic artist Ashibah to his newly released album via Universal Denmark.
A pioneer of Danish hip-hop for more than 20 years, GRAMMY Award winning producer Rune Rask is constantly striving to reshape the soundscape of modern music. Now teaming up with fellow Danish global talent Ashibah for a special club release, ‘Feed Your Soul’ demonstrates a powerhouse duo delivering double the skill.
Channelling her diverse roots in Denmark, Cairo, and Brazil into cinematic dance floor heaters, DJ, producer, and singer-songwriter Ashibah has been making huge waves as a respected and rising tastemaker on the electronic music scene. Her undeniable talent has landed her releases on major imprints like Solotoko, This Never Happened, REALM, Rule Zero, Nothing Else Matters, Anjunabeats, Sony Music, D4 D4NCE, DFTD, Kittball, Get Physical, Spinnin’ Records and more, collaborating with the likes of Vintage Culture, Saffron Stone and Nora En Pure whilst racking up millions of streams and Beatport Chart toppers.
In demand for her multifaceted skills, over the past year Ashibah has recorded live streams for DJ Mag, produced an official Beatport Sounds x Loopmasters sample pack 4 E.V.E.R, and has performed alongside icon Peggy Gou at Brazil’s infamous L’Occitane Theatre as well as sets at Danny Howard’s Amnesia Ibiza residency, Fabric, Fluid Festival, Lollapalooza, Rock in Rio, and Só Track Boal to name only a few.
Speaking on her new release with Rune, Ashibah shares, “‘Feed Your Soul’ is a combination of everything I love. A powerful vocal, upliftning piano chords, and thumping bassline with a complimentary kick. Our love for the 90’s shows in this track and it has been one of my moments in my sets the last year! It was an absolute joy and honor to work on this one with Rune. Our studio dynamic is unique and this is one of many anthems we will be making together!”
With credits working with some of the biggest hip hop artists of the decade, including Kendrick Lamar, Schoolboy Q, Lukas Graham, Akon, and Tech N9ne, Rune Rask has built a name for himself as both a formidable solo artist and one-third of Denmark’s most notorious hip-hop outfits of all time, Suspekt. Solidifying themselves in Danish infamy, the trio performed and headlined across all major stages and collected millions of streams.
Channelling two decades of experience into work that has earned him the reputation as the Rick Ruben of Denmark, Rune Rask has collected two US GRAMMY nominations, 8 GRAMMY wins in Denmark, and countless Platinum certifications. His additional collaboration, ‘Feed Your Soul’, with Ashibah demonstrates his continued dive into electronic music following on from newly released solo album Face Yourself marking a change of direction for the solo producer beyond his hip-hop roots.
