Midnight Kids, Lunice and 220 Kid have remixed Dutch artist/producer San Holo’s “Honest” featuring alternative duo Broods.
Montreal-based producer/DJ Lunice, who co-founded TNGHT with Hudson Mohawke, brings exotic, nocturnal shadings to the song, using a mix of various tribal instruments on Omnisphere, while acclaimed U.K. artist 220 Kid ramps up the track’s inherent buoyancy.
The Midnight Kids remix, which was released last month, successfully manages to retain the sentiment of the original, whilst still giving it a fresh outlook.
While San Holo initially conceived the song, “Honest” ultimately it became a collaborative effort with Broods’ Georgia Nott and San Holo’s co-writers, Kyle Shearer and Nate Campany, joining forces.
