On December 16th 2017, in front of 20,000 screaming Aussies at the iconic Sydney Showgrounds, Dutch legends Showtek returned to their Hardstyle roots.

After a hiatus from the genre of over six years, it was a jaw-dropping coup as leading Australian promoters Harder Styles United bought the curtain down on their last ever edition of Knockout Circuz.

News of the 100 minute set caught the attention of global media weeks before Sjoerd and Wouter Jannsen even stepped out onto the stage. From the opening strains of ‘Cannonball’ to the dying beats of ‘FTS’, the brothers rained down an absolute canon of their most classic tracks on the crowd, including ‘Black’, ‘Party Lover’, ‘Early Sounds’, ‘Defqon 1’, ‘Get Loose’, ‘Raver’ and ‘Green Stuff’, taking full advantage of the enormous stage boasting one of the biggest light and sound systems ever to grace Australian soil.

In a move sure to delight fans of hardstyle and of Showtek similarly, Harder Styles United dropped a stunning film of the entire set today via YouTube and their social media channels. A piece of pure dancefloor destruction, be sure to indulge yourselves in the harder side of life…

About Showtek

Dutch duo Showtek consist of brothers Wouter and Sjoerd Janssen. Since their formation in 2001, they switched and blended styles of EDM, techno, and hardstyle and worked with artists as prolific and varied as Tiësto and Chris Brown. The duo had a constant flow of releases, but it wasn’t until 2010 that they released their first full album, Analogue Players in a Digital World, through Central Station Records. Over the years they gradually grew their fan base and status, playing large solo shows and festivals and featuring on the same bills as acts like deadmau5 and David Guetta. Showtek were also known for their “Crazy Collabs” project, through which they collaborated with acts such as Hardwell and Bassjackers, and which produced some of their biggest hits, including “Hell Yeah!” featuring Tiësto and “Get Loose” with Noisecontrollers, released on Skrillex’s Owsla label. Showtek also produced short animated films to coincide with their releases, featuring their alter egos Baldy & Cresty, informing fans what artists they would be collaborating with on future releases. Once achieving a relatively high status, they co-produced the track “Nobody’s Perfect” alongside R&B star Chris Brown and remixed pop act Carly Rae Jepsen for the track “Tonight I’m Getting Over You,” showing their ability to progress further and delve into new styles and genres.
