In a short space of time, SHY Nodi has established himself as one of the most exciting and in-demand songwriters of his generation, with more than 1 billion streams to his name. Complex is his debut single and sees SHY Nodi step from the shadows to present himself to the world as an artist in his own right.

Explaining the meaning behind his reflective debut single, SHY Nodi explains, “A complex is something everybody has. It’s an insecurity born out of caring about what other people think. That insecurity can affect everything around you and your every choice until you get to the point that you can’t even recognize your true self.”

The release is accompanied by an official video, directed by Hampus Hjellström, and shot on location in his parents’ hometown in Bangladesh.

About SHY Nodi

Born in 1993 in Stockholm after his parents emigrated from Bangladesh, music was a lifelong calling that was at times, far from a certainty. Despite an early push to music, education was the pillar of life for his family. Following a plea to his parents, he was given two years to follow his dream. Three months prior to the deadline, the now 500 million-plus stream, multi-platinum hit ‘The Ocean’ by Mike Perry feat. SHY Martin was released, on which he was the co-writer.

SHY Nodi is now renowned in the industry for the successes that have come from his songwriting partnership with SHY Martin. Other notable songs written by the pair include‘All We Know’ by The Chainsmokers, and the 2018 US Top 50 Airplay hit single ‘I Wanna Know’ by NOTD feat. Bea Miller.

An artist project quickly took shape in 2017, the result of a close working partnership with producer Agrin Rahmani (LÉON, Skott). The debut single ‘Complex’ was co-written by Elina Stridh (NEIKED, Zara Larsson) and co-written and produced by Rahmani. The single was also mixed by Fabian Marasciullo (Bryson Tiller, Lil’ Wayne, Rick Ross).
