Take Control Records is a brand new label from the mind of Staines producer Sooney. He is the man behind the first release entitled Dial Up, which comes with an on point remix from Paperwork.
Sooney is a talented producer who has been ever more busy in the last couple of years. Previously working as Auntie Susan, he has had many jungle hits and now has turned his hand to house music with fine success. A lifetime vinyl collector and regular DJ at parties around the UK, he is really making his mark and long may that continue with Take Control.
‘Dial Up’ is a rude boy house am with lots of freaky vocals, whirring machines and squelchy bass patterns. It is fresh and modern sounding, with colourful production and a nagging dial tone undermining the whole thing. It’s physical and is sure to make floors sweat this summer.
The remix from Paperwork is more tech inclined, with a darker energy running through its metallic, robotic grooves and alien sound design.
This new EP is a fine way to kick off a promising new label from an assured UK talent.
