Russian organic house tastemaker Sound Quelle returned to the label today with his vibrant six-track EP, ‘Melancholy Strings.’

Since releasing his debut album ‘Iridescent’ on Silk Music in 2019, Sound Quelle has gone on to release numerous singles and EPs with the label. Debuting as his first release under the Monstercat Silk brand, ‘Melancholy Strings’ takes listeners on an ethereal journey through an eloquently crafted soundscape characterized by bright keys, crisp percussion, and warm orchestral strings.

Sound Quelle’s poignant style is evident throughout the package as the deep basses, and atmospheric pads allow for seamless transitions between tracks. With its soothing but uplifting energy, ‘Melancholy Strings’ is the perfect soundtrack for relaxing yoga routines or long study sessions.

Sound Quelle shares, “One day me and my friends, Jackarta and Referna, decided to make a more melodic and softer sound different from what we usually did. By that time, I’ve already had “Melancholy Strings” track-ready as well as several demos in the same style that I sent them. After a while, Jackarta sent me an updated demo, and I added some guitars and thongs, and the result was called “Algetran.”

The collab with Referna has also been finished rather quickly, but it turned out to be more organic and warm with the sound of a marimba and a slightly tropical mood. We decided to call that track “Van Damme” since it conveys the character of the movies that actor which we used to watch back in childhood.”

‘Melancholy Strings EP’ Tracklist:

1. Melancholy Strings
2. Algetran – Sound Quelle & Jackarta
3. Van Damme – Sound Quelle & Referna
4. Melancholy Strings (Extended Mix)
5. Algetran (Extended Mix) – Sound Quelle & Jackarta
6. Van Damme (Extended Mix) – Sound Quelle & Referna
